We bought several sofas when our children were tiny – working with a family budget that made us very wary, we worked out what we could afford and went for it – and as they grew, we started saving for the next sofa we wanted to get.  Though we knew that we’d picked one of the most perfect sofas, that it wouldn’t last forever.  And we were right.

Three reasons we replaced it when the eldest was ten:

ü  The old one was looking a bit tatty – after three children growing up from baby to toddlerhood to tween, we needed to replace them because after all the rips and scuffs and scrapes, and in one case, collapsed springs, the sofa just wasn’t comfortable.

ü  We wanted something that had a new style instead of timeless style – one of the critical things I wanted to look into was choosing something that was much more contemporary, to match the new décor in the house.  Once I got to that point, I was sure I’d be happy with the sofa I was looking at.

ü  I wanted to make sure that I’d gotten value for money – and of all the elements, though it wasn’t as important now, we needed to ensure that there was a value to what we were buying.

I think I found all three with the items I chose, and am delighted with our new sofas.
